Hello, I like the chic design of your cards. I have a lot of trouble remembering which month is which; however, If I were you, I would not modify your design with numbers, because the esoteric nature of the cards is part of their charm. You have an impressive collection of hanafuda. I saw your 'My Nintendo Hanafuda' post from June 2012 and I wondered if you would be will to provide some information on the different versions of hanafuda. I have the Nintendo Chiyozakura edition, which is probably the cheapest Nintendo set (but the first one I found).
Hi, sorry for the late reply. I'm glad you like my card designs and agree with you about adding numerals as one soon gets familiar with the card types and suits.
I have a few posts regarding my hanafuda (Japanese, Korean, Hawaiian and French) on here, so feel free to check them out at your leisure. I must say that I do tend to use my Korean cards more when playing because they are made of plastic, so are more durable than the Japanese cards (but not as well made).
I apologise for contacting you out of the blue. My name is Emily and I work at Tele-search which is a Japanese production company based in London, UK. I have been asked to contact you on behalf of a production team based in Japan who came across your blog and wanted to consider you for a TV show.
The episode we are working on is focusing on people such as yourself who are collecting/practicing a Japanese art here in the UK. They would then pick one of the participants and send them to Japan to learn more about it from a Master of that art in Japan.
We wanted to get some more information from you to see whether you would be a good fit for the programme so would really appreciate if you could send us a quick email to mail@tele-search.co.uk.
Not so easy to recognize when you're not that familiar with Hanafuda =)
ReplyDeleteHi, yes, you need to be familiar with Hanafuda really. Adding numbers for the months would rectify that.
DeleteJust saw (reading older posts) that you designed theses cards !
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job ! =)
Thank you.
DeleteYou should really put these on Kickstarter and get them printed!
ReplyDeleteWow, these are amazing! I love this style and artwork. I would really love to be able to buy a deck!
ReplyDeleteHi and thank you for your kind words.
